The minister of state for foreign affairs, Henry Okello Oryem has challenged Indian potential investors to ignore negatives reports about Uganda and invest in the country.

Speaking to delegates attending the Afro-Indian investment summit in Kampala, Oryem said there have been several voices decampaigning investment in Uganda over fears of disease outbreaks among others.

He says there are immense opportunities in Uganda to be tapped into noting that the country is ready to receive all investors beyond only the Chinese who have already invested in the country.

The minister says having more will create healthy competition.

Meanwhile, while testifying about the country’s conducive investment environment, City tycoon Sudhir Rupareria revealed that from his initial investment of 25,000$, he has grown his investments across various sectors and now employs over 9000 Ugandans directly.
