India’s premier Modi pledges support for Uganda

The Visiting Indian Prime Minister Modi Nahendra has pledged 200M$ to Uganda.

He made the pledge after bi lateral talks with his host president Yoweri Museveni at state house Entebbe.

The premier also expressed his country’s willingness to support Uganda in areas of security and health.

Meanwhile president Museveni invited indian business people to consider investment in tourism.

He also revealed that government is to establish Ghandi tourism centre at the source of the Nile in Jinja in honor of the late Indian leader Mahatma Gandi.

During the meeting the two delegations signed various MOUs including one on Defence Cooperation, Visa exemption for Diplomatic and official passport holders, Cultural Exchange Programme and on Material Testing Laboratory

President Museveni and his guest later proceeded to Kololo independence grounds where they spoke to the Indian community in Kampala.
