Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee has directed the Internal affairs permanent secretary to produce documents showing the directors of Mallbauer.

The directive followed failure by the ministry officials to disclose to the committee the people behind this Germany company that was contracted to produce national IDs for the country.

The committee’s lead council EddY Kwizera says it was also disappointing to know that despite all the money sunk in the project, only about 1600 IDs have been produced.

He now says the PS has been given upto end of this week to bring details of the company’s directors as he explains

The ministry officials were appearing before the committee for the second day running.

The committee is investigating the failed Sh300 bn National Identity Card deal.
