Kadaga calls for water ambulance

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has renewed calls for the government to provide water ambulances in Island districts in order to reduce cases of maternal mortality and save the lives of expectant mothers in these areas.

Kadaga has been officiating at a seminar on women, children and adolescent health organized by members of parliament.

Kadaga has expressed her frustration with the poor response by the government saying despite raising the matter with President Yoweri Museveni three years ago, there has been no intervention.

Meanwhile Former Buikwe South MP Dr. Lulume Bayiga says that most of the mothers in the islands are poor and encounter several challenges that affect their health.
