Operations of MV Ssese, one of the ferries transporting people and cargo to and from Kalangala’s main Bugala Island have been suspended for major servicing.

The routine repairs and maintenance that will take place in Mwanza Tanzania will last 5 weeks with effect from today September 21st.

The Managing Director of Kalangala Infrastructure Services, the company Managing MV Ssese John Opondo says the servicing is one of the mandatory operations needed to improve services offered by the company.

Opondo adds that in the meantime MV Pearl operated in the main Bugoma – Bukakata route will be used.

A new time table according to the Kalangala Ferry Manager John Baptist Lubega has been drawn to immediately to enable effective transportation of goods and services.
