Rapper Kanye West has officially changed his name to ‘Ye’. Kanye West who cited personal reasons for the name change started the process in August in Los Angeles.

Ye is an abbreviation of his first name. This has also been his nickname that he used as early as 2012.

The rapper first made this announcement of a name change in 2018 on his Twitter handle.

“I am YE. Who or what is Kanye West with no ego? Just Ye,” he tweeted.

However, it should be noted that his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and his four children all bear his surname West.

The rapper has already added his new name to his social media handles.
