By Shamim Nateebwa:

The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has advised the Central government to pass subsidiary legislation under the land laws to enable land owners get justice.

Katikkiro notes that if this is not done many Ugandans will lose their land and cause tension between government and its people.

Mayiga has also commended the land probe commission led by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire for the good work done so far in unearthing fraud in land transactions and exposing corrupt government officials.

He has thus appealed to government to fully fund the commission to enable it complete its work.

The katikkiro was this morning addressing the Buganda Kingdom Lukiiko during which the new financial year’s budget was passed.
