BY Ssebuliba Samuel:

Calls are being made for the appointing authority to speed up the process of getting a replacement for the Deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma.

Justice Kavuma is expected to retire next month after clocking the retirement age.

However, the court of appeal which he heads is still handling electoral petitions and there are concerns that delays to appoint his replacement will paralyse court business.

Speaking to KFM, Gerald Karuhanga the Ntugamo municipality Member of Parliament said that Justice Kavuma’s position is crucial in the judiciary and there should be no void created when he leaves office.
