A prime suspect in the murder of ASP Muhammad Kirumira and Stella Nalinya Mbabazi has been charged before the Wakiso chief magistrates’ court.
47 year old Abubakar Kalungia carpenter and a resident of Bulega in Wakiso district was driven to court at about 1pm amidst tight security from both police and CMI operatives.
At court, grade one magistrate Martin Kirya has heard that on the September 8th 2018 at about 8pm in Bulega Kalungi with others still at large used a gun to murder ASP Kirumira and Nalinya.
Kalungi has however been barred from pleading to the capital offenses of murder which are tried and bailable by the High court.
He has been remanded to Kigo prison until the October 19th after prosecution reported that inquiries are still on-going.
Security operatives Last week told the press that they managed to net some of the prime suspects in the gruesome murder by help of footage caught by a CCTV camera mounted on a near -by hardware shop.
