Vendors operating in Kyebando a Kampala suburb are crying foul after their kiosks were demolished by city law enforcement officers.

Kampala Capital City Authority law enforcement officers have today swung in action bringing down all illegal structures and buildings in the area.

According to KCCA spokesperson Peter Kaujju the demolitions are aimed at bringing to an end illegal construction and enforcing compliance with building standards.

He further explains that KCCA has revised the procedure for approving construction plans, reducing the approval period to 30 days, all of which is intended to foster more development.
