Gen aronda Nyakiarima

Internal affairs minister General Aronda Nyakarima is asking human rights defenders to be responsible in executing their duties.

Gen. Aronda says the organizations should stop being hostile and work closely with government to promote human rights.

Aronda says nobody is acting above the law and culprits should not hide under human rights to break the law.

However the Executive Director of Uganda National NGO Forum, Richard Ssewakirya said that there is also need to train government officials on using the right based approaches to promote public understanding of rights and facilitate the teaching of human rights values in the country.
