One can put it that Bobi Wine’s involvement in spearheading community awareness, fundraising and such projects is unmatched! Well, save for the Tubonga Naawe project.

The Ghetto president is at it again; and this time round, the Bobi will join Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Iguru to headline a charity run to raise funds for the construction of ‘a cats home’ at UWEC in Entebbe this Sunday.

Dubbed the Kampala Colour Fun Run, the experience is less about talent but rather an untimed five-kilometre race where participants or ‘Colour Runners’ will be doused from head to toe in different colours at each kilometre mask.

According to the organisers – Events 256 – the run is aimed at raising Shs200m to put up a cat complex at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.

We have it on good record that King Oyo and a few subjects as well as Bobi and his wife Barbie will participate in the run on the streets of Entebbe.

Tickets are at Shs20,000 for adults and Shs10,000 for children at all Kampala and Entebbe outlets of Café Javas and Nakumatt. There will be a big after-run celebration at UWEC, with performances by Bobi Wine himself, as well as mixes by DJ Roja and Slick Stuart.

James Musinguzi, the Uwec executive director, welcomed the idea with open hands and said this might curb the looming big cat crisis.
