Liquid Telecom supports Uganda’s internet infrastructure

Liquid Telecom one of the leading internet service providers in Africa, has announced a 2 billion shilling investment to upgrade internet infrastructure in Uganda.

Currently, about 16.2% of Ugandans have access to the internet.

The Chief Technical officer, Liquid Telecom Hans Haerdtle, says the money will be used to extend fibre cable infrastructure across Kampala’s Central Business District and to multiple rural towns across Uganda, including Mukono, Jinja, Masaka, and Mbarara.

“Improving internet services in the country will help reduce poverty levels especially in rural areas where access is still limited”, says Haerdtle.
