Maroons return to the Super League as KCCA surrender unbeaten run at home

KCCA FC suffered yet another slump in the title race with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Vipers in a match played at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo last evening.

Despite taking the lead through prolific striker Geoffrey Serunkuuma on 16 minutes, the visitors put up a fight in the second half to eventually score two goals and hand KCCA FC the first loss at home this season.

Vipers defender Nicholas Wadada handled the ball inside the area and Serunkuuma Serunkuuma took his goal tally to 18 this season converting a penalty at the quarter hour mark sending goalkeeper Ismail Watenga the wrong way to give KCCA FC an early lead.

The visitors levelled matters in the 64th minute through former KCCA FC forward Tony Odur after Timothy Awany lost possession and the lanky striker fired past goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan.

Another lapse in the defence five minutes later cost the home side with Vipers defender Geoffrey Wasswa scoring the second goal.

Despite the loss,KCCA FC remain top of the table on 48 points same as second placed SC Villa but with two games in hand. The next fixture for KCCA FC will be an away trip to Wankulukuku to face Express FC.

 

Maroons F.C have returned to the super league after beating Kyambogo F.C

At their home in Luzira Prison, Maroons have destroyed Kyambogo F.C leading with a 3-1 score. In the 8th minute, Patrick Kaddu took advantage of penalty opportunity as a result of a foul. Pius Obuya found the net in the 56th minute. Unfortunately for Kyambogo, Shadrack Otyang scored an own goal in the 77th minute.

Team coach, Asaf Mwebaze has said this is exciting and he that he is grateful to return to the super league. To stabilize their stay in the league, he has said they are going to rectify all the mistakes in the club starting with the administration, down to the players.
