The minister of finance, economic development and planning Matia Kasaija has pledged financial support to a group of Nsambya youths operating on the roadside.

Speaking to these youths engaged in various artisan works last evening, the minister said government was to support them through their SACCO, further promising to acquire land for their activities.

The minister emphasized value addition to furniture products so they can attract foreign exchange.

Kasaija who was flanked by state minister for youths Nakiwala Kiyingi appealed to the youths to keep safe from HIV and go for further studies.

A portion of funds in the 2017/18 budget has been apportioned to acquire land to settle roadside furniture makers.
