Independent Presidential Candidate Amama Mbabazi has attacked the electoral commission over Democratic Party (DP) president Nobert Mao’s failed nomination. Mr Mao who was seeking nomination for Gulu Municipality Parliamentary race was recently turned away by the Gulu district electoral officials because his name was not on the updated voter’s register.
Addressing a news conference in Kabaale, Mbabazi said that was a clear indication that the commission is not independent, challenging it to prove otherwise to the nation.
The Electoral Commission has however often denied any wrong doing saying Mao only has himself to blame for not updating his personal information on the voters register.

Mbabazi now heads to Rukungiri for more rallies.
