It was all jubilation at the Masaka court after supporters of former Prime Minister Amaama Mbabazi were released yesterday.

Moses Kasozi, 32, Charles Ssebadawo, 27, and Charles Higiro, 37, were arrested on 8th June and charged before Masaka Grade One Magistrate’s Court.

The trio was remanded at Masaka prison on Friday after failing to secure shillings 250,000 each for bail.
Masaka Grade 1 Magistrate, Ann Komuhangi had granted the trio a cash bail of Shs250, 000 each, but the money was not readily available on Friday so they were returned to Masaka Central Prison.

Siraje Luyima, a Councilor representing Nyendo Parish, says they secured the bail money late when banks had already closed and they could not process bail papers in time but they are happy that at last they managed to bail out their friends.

Robert Kizito the coordinator of Mbabazi supporters in Masaka region says that they are ready to fight for their rights.

The case has been adjourned to 8th July 2015 when they will re appear to court.
