Finance minister Matia Kasaijja has warned policymakers who have consistently ignored the promotion of programs that target creating jobs for the youth.

According to the World Bank Global Financial Development Index, only 6% of the youth have access to financial services.

The minister says this should be comprehensively and urgently addressed and ensure that meaningful jobs are created.

The minister made the remarks while officiating at the launch of a special project where the Uganda Development Bank will be offering loans to cater to youth and women entrepreneurs.
