MPs fundraise for MUK reopening

Members of parliament have joined the fundraising campaign to raise over 28 billion shillings to clear Makerere university arrears and have the institution open.

The fundraising campaign is championed by former Makerere university guild presidents including Ntungamo Municipality MP Gerald Karuhanga, Female MP Anna Adeke and Bugabula County’s Maurice Kibalya.

The law makers joined by former MUK students who are legislators from all political parties have agreed to join the campaign started by former FDC presidential candidate Rtd Col Dr Kizza Besigye.

During a news conference held at parliament where 550 thousand shillings was raised this evening the MPs say that their efforts will not go in vain.
