The state of hospitals and health centers is still worrying.
Members of parliament on a tour of Hospitals have today found out that many do not have the basic drugs.
Some also lack syringes and cannulas.
This has been noted at Mukono Health Center Four and Jinja Referral hospital.
In Jinja, It has been confirmed that the medical incinerator broke down six months ago.
The facility is used to burn medical waste and serves hospitals and health centers in Jinja, Iganga and Kamuli districts.
Incinerator attendant, Newton Cheptoek says that the matter was reported to the ministry but nothing has been done.
Meanwhile, in Mukono district officials want the Health Center IV upgraded to a fully-fledged hospital.
The call has been made by Mukono mayor Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga.
He has asked Members of Parliament to advocate for the hospital status to be improved because it can no longer handle the growing population with just two doctors.
Ssenyonga adds that the health center has enough land for expansion and it is located near the road which ensures easy access.
Some of the MPs on the ward tour are Betty Nambooze, Lulume Bayiga, Milton Muwuma and Naome Kabuule among others.
They have today visited Jinja, Iganga and Luwuuka hospitals.
