MUBS petition speaker of parliament on closure of MUK

David Kugonza | November 29, 2016

Makerere University Business School has petitioned the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga seeking parliament’s intervention into the continued closure of Makerere University Main Campus.

MUBS Academic Staff Chairperson Prof Arthur Ahimbisibwe, says
that over 5000 students who sat their final exams risk missing out on
graduation if Makerere remains under key and lock.

Prof Ahimbisibwe also wants parliament to support MUBs to become independent from Makerere University, arguing that the institution meets all requisite qualifications to stand alone.

The Speaker has referred the matter to parliament’s committee on
education and sports for handling.
