Former Forum for Democratic Change Party president Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu has broken the silence regarding his future at the country’s largest opposition party.

Muntu who recently lost the party presidency to Patrick Amuriat, drawing reports of him planning to quit the party.

However, addressing a news conference this morning, Muntu said no conclusive decision can be taken yet about the future of the FDC as a party.

He said that now plans to work with the party’s structures to focus on mobilizing all Ugandans across party lines to participate in Local Council elections.

He also calls for open and exhaustive discussion with all stake holders in addressing some of what he describes as irreconcilable differences at grass roots

Muntu says this work starts after when he officially hands over office to Amuriat on Friday this week.
