As campaigns in new municipalities come to a close today, all eyes will be on Bugiri, where all the big wigs from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the opposition are headed to drum up support for their respective candidates.

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the NRM national chairman is expected there this afternoon to campaign for the party’s parliamentary candidate Francis Okecho.

According to the NRM Communication’s Officer Rodgers Mulindwa president Museveni will hold one rally at Bukooli technical school in Bugiri.

Meanwhile, Forum for Democratic Change’s Dr. Kiiza Besigye will lead a team of senior party officials to campaign for Eunice Namatende.

Also expected there is Kyandodo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi in a last minute vote hunt for Justice Forum’s Asuman Basalirwa, another candidate in the race Bugiri Municipality parliamentary seat.

Elections in Bugiri and the other new municipalities are slated for Friday this week.
