President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned over 1000 road equipment.

The earth moving equipment procured by government with a commercial land from the Japanese bank of international cooperation is to be distributed to all districts of the country

Speaking at the commissioning, held in Bweyogerere Butto ,the president said this will ensure improved road infrastructure across the country which will enhance economic activity

The president  further said with government having this fleet of equipment over no local government local is expected to continue giving tenders for road works.

Speaking at the same function he Japanese ambassador to Uganda Kameda Kazuaki urged the local governments to ensure they put the equipment to proper use and handle them well knowing that they are not a donation.

He expressed confidence that the equipment will boost local economy and promote commercialisation of agriculture
