Museveni speaks out on migrants.

By Samuel Ssebuliba

African governments have been urged to formulate common policies that will help address the issue of migrants on the continent.

Currently it is estimated that over 1.4 billion people are migrants globally, with Africa hosting the third highest number of migrants after Europe and America.

While addressing the 3rd Pan-African Forum on Migration today, President Yoweri Museveni said African countries have abundance of resources and so there is no need for people to die while making dangerous journeys to Europe.

He said African leaders have to create conducive environments for people to prosper and live a good and peaceful life.

He has added that during this forum, leaders should discuss a holistic approach to migration including development, employment, human rights, peace and security, climate change and humanitarian dimensions.
