Museveni in the field

President Yoweri Museveni is in Luweero district to drum up support for the NRM candidate ahead of the by election.

Speaking at an ongoing rally at Wobulenzi, Museveni has advised residents to turn against what he described as falsehoods by city politicians.

He has urged to vote leaders that will support and government programmes.

The by- election slated for Thursday resulted from a court ruling that nullified Brenda Nabukenya’s election over irregularities.

The race for the Luweero woman Member of Parliament has drawn four candidates including NRM’s Rebecca Nalwanga and DP’s Brenda Nabukenya.

The district returning officer Alex Komuhangi says the Electoral Commission has done adequate verification of the details of all voters and the public should expect a clean register.

Campaigns for the candidates vying for the Luweero woman parliamentary seat officially tomorrow ahead of the polls slated for May 22nd.
