Museveni to construct schools at every parish level

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promised to construct primary school at every parish level across the country.

President Museveni made the remarks while addressing teachers celebrating the international teacher’s day at Lugogo cricket oval grounds.

He says Currently government has constructed 12000 government primary schools across the country but they are not enough.

He says at every count, vocational institution will be constructed in all the 293 counties across the country

He says this will improve on the literacy level in the country which stands at 75%. He also ordered that the 25 billion shillings teacher SACCO money to be given to the teachers.

Out of the 25 billion shillings the teachers have received only 5.8 billion shillings the balance is still with the Micro finance support Centre.

He asked the teachers to work as change agents in the community to help the people engage in development activities.

He says 68% of the people are not enhancing in any development activity
