Elections for the national female youth MP are underway at Kontik Hotel in Hoima town.

The Midwestern regional Returning officer Iddi Kaahwa said 241 delegates are expected to cast their votes.

Although five candidates picked nomination forms in the morning, only three  returned the forms and were duly nominated.

Ronah Kemirembe who had picked forms as an independent candidate narrowly missed out on the exercise after she allegedly turned up at the venue late after nominations had been closed.

She was later seen shedding tears, pleading with Electoral commission officials to clear her nomination.

Kemirembe has accused EC official of denying her opportunity to contest.

The nominated candidates are NRM’s Ann Ruyondo Lumumba and independents Anna Adeke Ebaju and Marcelina Busomoke.
