This is according to the minister of Internal Affairs Gen Aronda Nyakairima who was speaking during the launch of issuance of the national identity cards for West Nile region.

He said 22 Eritreans had been arrested last week in West Nile region without proper travel and identification documents.

The minister also revealed that government of Uganda was into talks with its counterpart in South Sudan to allow the Ugandans Use their national IDs as travel document to enter their country while Uganda reciprocates for South Sudan nationals.

Aronda also warned the issuance officers against extorting money from unsuspecting residents in order for them to acquire their IDs.
