Government is set to come up with a National Library policy.

The policy being developed under the ministry of Gender labor and social development is to guide the development and establishment of national Libraries across the country.

The director of the National Library of Uganda Adonia Katungusa says the regulatory impact assessment has been finalized expressing optimism that with draft policy already in place, it will be finalized by next financial year.

Meanwhile, the vice chairperson of the National Culture Forum Charles Batambuze acknowledged the high cost of internet as a hindrance to accessing online reading materials however adding that local governments are advised to set up more Libraries.
