Nebbi Catholic Diocese is set to hold the first holy mass at Namugongo   on May 29, 2024 before the main Uganda Martyrs Day celebrationS slated for June 3.

The holy mass will be celebrated by His Grace Raphael Wokorach, the Archbishop of Gulu Diocese on the 29th May, 2024.

According to the Archbishop Wokorach, the holy mass is aimed at welcoming all the pilgrims both within and outside Uganda to Namugongo catholic shrine and sharing the experiences of the pilgrims during the 450km trek to Namugongo Catholic shrine in Wakiso district.

The Bishop announced a holy mass for the pilgrims while preaching about radical faiths and discipline at Nebbi Cathedral Parish that were exhibited by the pilgrims  trekking  distance for faith.

The foot pilgrims from Nebbi Catholic Diocese are being led by Mr Festo Thugitho who has sacrificed himself in updating the entire nation through the social media on the distance covered and left.

Thugitho said, the foot pilgrims from Nebbi catholic diocese left Wobulenzi catholic parish after the Sunday morning prayers where they spent a night and made a stopover at Bombo.

He said the pilgrims are so excited to reach the Kampala Metropolitan area without any difficulties but said, they are left with 38km so far covering 400km to reach the promised lands of Namugongo catholic shrine.
