Nebbi pilgrims expected to arrive in Bweyale Today

The over 700 foot pilgrims trekking from Nebbi District are expected to reach Bweyale this evening.

The pilgrims that set off on Wednesday for Namugongo martyrs’ shrine, they spent the night at Karuma from where they continued with their journey this morning and are expected to spend their night at Bweyale Town.

The spokesperson Organising Committee Nebbi Catholic dioceses, Fr. Emmanuel Ocokuru tells KFM that the pilgrims’ journey is so far progressing despite few challenges.

Father Ocokuru adds that having walked a long distance on their first day, the pilgrims have resorted to covering shorter a distances of 20-30KM a day until they reach Namugongo in Wakiso District for the June 3rd Martyrs Day celebrations.

“The pilgrims left Karuma this morning and they are heading to Katulikire hopefully they will reach katulikire  this evening just few kilometres to Bweyale the journey  is so far okay.’’ Mr. Ocokuru said.

This year’s Martyrs’ Day celebrations at the Namugongo Catholic shrine will be led by Nebbi Catholic Diocese.
