By Ritah Kemigisa.

The fate of the crime preventers will be determined by the new police leadership.

This comes from the police spokesperson Emilian Kayima following increased uncertainty over the group created by the former Inspector general of Police Gen Kale Kayihura.

The work of crime preventers was largely promoted by Gen Kayihura who was always seen defending their operations.

Kayima now says the new IGP will have to pronounce himself on the group however adding that police through its community policing approach trains citizens on crime prevention.
