13 people arrested in Sembabule for threatening people

At least 13 people have been arrested in Sembabule district for allegedly distributing anonymous letters threatening people that they will be attacked and murdered.

The suspects are said to be part of a group of thugs that are terrorizing different parts of Masaka region.

The fliers the suspects were allegedly distributing named places and dates on which the attacks would be orchestrated.

Ssembabule District Police Commander Denis Musinguzi says that the group was arrested in separate operations conducted in the district.

Musinguzi says that Police is still hunting for others who are still at large.

He has however asked the residents to stay calm adding that police has beefed up security.

Musinguzi says that the suspects are soon going to be taken to courts of law when police investigations into the matter are finalized.
