1,438 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Uganda

ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) is a membrane-bound aminopeptidase, the key host receptor for the spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2 which serves as initial step in the development of coronavirus infection on a cellular level and a potential target for treatment strategy.

Ministry of health has confirmed 1,438 new cases.

Most of the cases are from areas of Kampala and Wakiso.

Currently, the  cumulative confirmed cases in Uganda are 56,949 and 402 deaths.

As the number of Covid-19 cases continue to go high in Uganda, countries like UAE have banned flights from Uganda.
