The Bukedi region police spokesperson, Sowali Kamulya has confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Hatiti Deludani.

He says the bees belong to one Michael Sanya, a neighbor who practices apiculture.

Kamulya says the body of the deceased has been taken to Busia district hospital for postmortem.

Geoffrey Hatiti, the father of the deceased has asked police to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure the owner of the bees is prosecuted.

However, it is not yet clear whether or not the Police will arrest and charge the owner of the bees.
