90,000 Ugandans to receive free yellow fever vaccination

Over 90,000 people are set to benefit from a free yellow fever campaign this week organized by the National Medical Stores and the Ministry of Health to reward tax payers.

A statement from the National Medical Stores indicates that the 3-day exercise will take place at the Kololo Independent Grounds during the URA Taxpayers Appreciation Week, running from 27th and 29th.

Moses Kamabare, the NMS general Manger says they have partnered with the Ministry of Health and Mulago Hospital because together they share a common commitment to achieve the government target of attaining a middle income population.

According to the Ministry of Health and Civil Aviation Authority, all passengers traveling in and out of Entebbe International Airport are supposed to present proof of immunization against the disease inform of certificates or cards.

However, majority of Ugandans have not been able to meet the immunization fees ranging between Shs80, 000 and 100,000 that charged by few accredited private health facilities around the country.

It also indicated the eligibility to get a shot of the yellow fever vaccine will be based on possession of national ID.
