A joint force of the UPDF and Police has beefed up security in Karamoja sub region as the festive season sets in.

Check points have been established along the border of Uganda and Kenya with patrols in the entire Karamoja region intensified.

Moroto Regional Police Commander Okot Obwona says all the security members in the seven Karamoja districts are carrying out patrols.
