According to the Commissioner of Traffic and Road Safety, Stephen Kasiima, the driver is suspected to have been drunk because he was over speeding and several bottles of beer were found inside the car.

Kasiima says the other three other occupants in the vehicle were not injured though the MP got a cut on her arm.

The driver is now under custody at Matugga Police station while the vehicle was towed to the station.

Kasiima says the driver will undergo testing to check the amount of alcohol in his body and if found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, he will be charged accordingly.

He warned drivers against drink driving.
