Kasaija was summoned following queries raised by Members of Parliament opposed to the bill, who questioned the manner in which he issued the certificate.

According to a copy of the certificate presented by Magyezi in support of his Constitution Amendment Bill 2017, Kasaija made the endorsement on September 28th, just a day after he was granted leave by Parliament.

Jacob Oboth-Oboth, the committee chairperson says the members want Kasaija to explain how he issued the certificate in such a short time.

The committee is currently collecting views from various stake holders regarding the proposed amendment to Article 102(b) of the constitution to provide for removal of the age limit for presidential candidates.
