According to the police spokesperson Asan Kasingye, the body of an unidentified woman was discovered this morning near Mpala police post.

He says the deceased’s body has been taken to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem.

This brings to 22, the number of women killed so far in a period of three months after the body of 38 year old Harriet Nantongo was discovered yesterday.

It also comes as women rights activists ask government to declare a national day in remembrance of the women who have been violently murdered in the various areas of Wakiso District.

Earlier, the minister of internal affairs General Jeje Odong attributed the murder of women to issues of ritual killings like illuminate saying that government has taken steps towards their protection.
