Police says they have intelligence that NUP party presidential Flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi is planning to go into hiding in one of the Embassies and claim that he was kidnapped by state operatives.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga made the revelation during an impromptu press briefing at their head offices in Naguru ahead of the Thursday’s presidential poll.

He has cautioned the presidential hopeful against any such tactics.

‘We have credible intelligence that the NUP presidential candidate Hon Robert Kyagulanyi plans to go into hiding possibly in one of the Embassies immediately after casting his vote and allege through his  NUP networks and bloggers that he has been kidnapped by state operatives. This intention is to incite the public and cause another wave of protests. We want to caution Kyagulanyi about  using such tactics,’ Enanga said.

The remarks come hours after Kyagulanyi claimed that security officers raided his home this morning and arrested the bodyguards assigned to him by the Electoral Commission.

However police says no arrests were made at bobi wine’s home and that they only changed a check point for reasons yet to be revealed.
