This was revealed by the ICT and National Guidance minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi during a news briefing at Uganda Media Centre.

Dr Baryomunsi says the minister of finance has been directed to find Shs21bn for this purpose following the building’s destruction by fire in September last year.

He says the main hall which was not affected by the fire will be maintained but refurbished with modern ICT equipment

He further says the University has been asked to make new electric installations in the old buildings to avoid future fires and also have fully functional CCTV cameras which should be monitored from a command centre at Makerere.
