The police in Nebbi district have arrested a 65 year old catholic catechist for allegedly defiling a mentally ill girl.

The West Nile Police spokesperson Josephine Angucia has identified the suspect as OtikendiLopido a catechist at Agaba catholic chapel, Mbaro village, Atego Sub- County.

She says Lopido was caught in the act with the teenager in a church.
She adds that the suspect confessed to have been defiling a girl for a long time and that she is now 3 month pregnant.

The suspect has been charged under penal cord act and on conviction he is likely to face 14 years in jail.
