Days after a major army reshuffle, President Yoweri Museveni and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces has transferred and promoted some top army commanders.

The Deputy Spokesperson Major Henry Obbo has confirmed that some of the promoted officers are Col. Michael Kabango who has been promoted to the rank of Brig and appointed 5th Division Commander, replacing Brig.Sam Kavuma who has been appointed Deputy Commander, Air force.

Others are Brig. Paul Lokech who has been a Defence Attaché to Russia, and is now appointed Commander Second Division, replacing major general Peter Elwelu.

Brig. Proscovia Nalweyiso has been promoted to the rank of Major General.

Col Henry Matsiko, who has been the heading the Patriotic Secretariat, is promoted to the rank of Brig and appointed the Chief Political Commissar of the UPDF, replacing Col Felix Kulayigye.

Nakibus Lakara has been appointed commander, Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Center, while Brig Richard Karemire, who has been the Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence, is appointed the Military Spokesman, and replaces Col. Paddy Ankunda as army spokesperson.
