The Constitutional Court is today expected to hear an application seeking to temporarily block the approval of NRM’s newly appointed secretariat leaders.

The interim order is expected to be heard and determined by acting Chief Justice Steven Kavuma at 2; 30pm.

 

This matter arose on December 24th when a one Benjamin Alipanga, a student of Kent University dragged the NRM to court challenging the outcome of the party’s delegates’ conference that sat of December 15th 2014.

 

The conference saw the amendment of the party constitution giving the national chairman powers to appoint key secretariat leaders.

 

The newly appointed NRM leaders whose appointment is to be approved by NEC on Thursday include Justine Lumumba Kasule, as Secretary General and Richard Todwong as her deputy.

 

The other office bearers are; Rose Namayanja as party treasurer and Dr Kenneth Omona as her deputy who were sued alongside the Attorney General.
