The Constitution Amendment Bill 2017 that targets to remove the presidential age limit from the constitution is set for the 1st reading on Thursday this week.
Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi is already on leave preparing the Bill after the acrimonious sitting that degenerated into violent and chaotic scenes in parliament last week.
Whereas the Bill’s 1st reading attracts no debate and simply serves as the transit stage to the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, the opposition MPs are planning civil action when the first reading is due.
The opposition Chief Whip Ssemujju Nganda says proponents of the bill should not celebrate yet because the party is not over.
