Government has asked the civil society to join the movement intended to reduce the exiting gaps in access to water for Ugandans.
Statistics from the ministry of Water and Environment indicate that only 67% of the rural population has access to clean water, while in urban areas the rate stands at 71%.
While opening a three-day Rotary Uganda Wash Summit this morning, the state minister for water Samuel Cheptoris said the campaign to avail water to all Ugandans needs a multidimensional approach thus necessitating involvement of other sectors.
This summit has attracted rotary members from Kenya, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic Congo.
