The Ministry of health has given 10am this morning as an application deadline for companies that are interested in manufacturing and supplying face masks to government.
A mask manufacturing deal to Nyanza Textile Industries Limited (Nytil), has since been questioned by lawmakers who said they are other capable companies that equally supply the masks.
The ministry of health has since opened up opportunities to all those companies that are capable to supply the over 40 million masks government needs.
The ministry’s spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyona says interested companies have to submit their particulars among them; their manufacturing capacity and firm location to email@example.com not before than 10 am for consideration.
Appearing on KFM’s VPN show over the weakend, the finance ministry permanent secretary Keith Muhakanizi assured the nation that about shs 35 billion need by the ministry of health to procure the masks is available.
