The opposition ‘people’s government‘ has announced plans to commence activities to challenge the decision by majority members of parliament to support amendment of Article 102 (b) of the constitution to lift the lower and upper age cap for presidential candidates.
According to the former FDC party president Dr. Kiiza Besigye, the campaign will start on January 9th.
Besigye says necessary arrangements are being made to ensure the violated constitution is restored and their resolutions shall be announced on this day.
He is also asking Ugandans to join the struggle because it is a matter that concerns everyone regardless of political affiliation.
Besigye says defending the constitution is every citizen’s duty that cannot be sabotaged by any force.
